How do I turn off auto capitalization in macOS El Capitan? For certain things I do not want it and it's very annoying. For instance, dictating in a spreadsheet. In numbers, I cannot select a bunch of fields and lowercase the letters.
grgOnce you've done this a couple times, every time you type in lower case, it automatically replaces with upper. If you can't find I in suggestions, type in i, space then get back delete and type I. Do this a couple times as well.

Manually changing a whole paragraph of text from lowercase to uppercase letters is hardly productive use of anyone's time. Mac computers include a feature that can do this automatically for you without the need to download additional software. You can change any text to uppercase or lowercase, as well as capitalize the first letter of every word if needed. Because this feature is part of the Mac OS X operating system, it works on most Apple programs like TextEdit, Notepad and even Stickies. If you need to change the text where this feature isn't supported, like the text field in a Web browser, just copy the text, paste it into TextEdit to transform it and then paste it back where you need it.
Step 1
Capitalize Text Online
Highlight the text you want to change in an application like TextEdit or Notes by dragging the cursor over the text.
